Welcome to SCM 2026 – Padova

The 20th International Symposium on Spin and Magnetic Field Effects in Chemistry and Related Phenomena (Spin Chemistry Meeting 2026) will be held at the University of Padova, Italy, 20th – 24th September 2026.

Padova is a vibrant city in Italy with a rich cultural and scientific history long recognized as a center of scientific inquiry and intellectual exchange. Among its many attractions there are two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Giotto’s Scrovegni Chapel with other fourteenth-century fresco cycles and the Botanical Garden.

Padova’s University, founded in 1222, is one of the oldest in Europe. Padova played a pivotal role in the emergence of modern science. From 1592 to 1610, Galileo Galilei held the chair of mathematics here, describing his years in the city as the most fruitful of his life. This enduring legacy of rigorous inquiry and innovation continues to shape Padova’s scientific identity today. With more than 80,000 students today, it remains one of Italy’s leading research institutions.
